Recently, I was asked to do a little synopsis of how I import my drawings into Flash. So here goes. Basically, I start with a pile of inked drawings. These are scanned on a regular flatbed scanner with a pegbar attached so that all the drawings register. These are all saved as .tif files. Next, I batch import all of the tif's into a program called Adobe Streamline. This program is somewhat old and I don't even think Adobe makes it anymore. Mine is only usable in OS 9 (Mac); but it's a great program for tracing bitmaps and turning them into vector files. I highly recommend avoiding the "trace bitmap" function in Flash, it really screws up the line quality. Streamline is very faithful in it's tracing and I highly recommend it. Here's an example of the before and after: On the left is the scanned drawing. On the right is the vector image. Hope this helps some! cheap microsoft office cheap corel draw

Voice actors sound off
Posted on November 30, 2008 in Borland Delphi
Piglet Remembering John Fiedler (1925-2005) Jim Hill remembers that great big talent who provided Piglet's very small voice: Character actor John Fiedler, who passed away this past Saturday at the age of 80. by Jim Hill You know, it's kind of bizarre that John Fiedler -- the original voice of Piglet -- actually died within 24 hours of Paul Winchell's passing. "Why bizarre?," you ask. Well, you see, there's this story that I had originally wanted to tell as part of yesterday's Winchell tribute. About the very last time Paul was hired to provide Tigger's voice for a Disney animated feature. A project that was then entitled "Winnie the Pooh and the Family Tree." Winchell's first (and only) recording session for this movie came in the Spring of 1998. And -- as the guys in the booth listened to the obvious rasp in Paul's voice -- it quickly became apparent that the 76-year-old performer no longer sounded like Tigger. I mean, sure, Winchell had originated this character's voice back in that 1968 Disney featurette, "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day." But now -- over 30 years later -- this voiceover veteran could no longer produce Tigger's distinctive bouncy, trouncy sound. So -- after that single session -- Paul was let go from the project. And Disney eventually brought in vocal pro Jim Cummings, who was already doing Pooh's voice for "Family Tree." And -- given that Jim had already been doing Tigger's voice (On various Disney television shows and/or for Disney Consumer Products. Where it had proven to be very cost effective to hire a Paul Winchell sound-alike, rather than pay full price for the really-for-real Paul Winchell ... Anyway ... ) -- it only made sense to replace Winchell with Cummings. Of course, what Disney hadn't counted on was all the bad publicity that would erupt as a direct result of Paul's dismissal. The trades were immediately full of headlines like "Disney Bounces Tigger" and "Winchell gets thrown out of 'Family Tree'." (Which may explain the studio ultimately decided to change this film's title. Dropping "Winnie the Pooh and the Family Tree" in favor of "The Tigger Movie.") Anywho ... The press keeps looking for ways to keep this controversy going. Which is why reporters eventually approached John Fiedler, the last remaining member of the original vocal cast that Walt Disney Productions had assembled 'way back in the 1960s to do those first three "Winnie the Pooh" featurettes. John was the only member of that ensemble who was still under contract to the studio. So -- hoping for a good quote -- a columnist asked Fiedler point-blankly what he thought about Disney replacing Winchell with Cummings. John replied: "I'm just glad that Jim can't do Piglet's voice." That's a cute little story, don't you think? Which was why I was originally thinking about weaving it into yesterday's article. But eventually I decided against including that particular anecdote. Why For? Well ... Because that joke actually comes at Paul's expense. It's a laugh that only occurs because of this extremely trying time in Winchell's life. That period when this entertainment vet just felt that he had become too old to perform anymore. So I guess you can understand why I originally decided to spike that story. Even though it obviously showcased Fiedler's quick wit, this veteran character's ability to continue to surprise people with his awesome comic timing. Well, who knew that -- just hours after I'd decided to cut that anecdote out of my Winchell tribute -- that I'd now have a logical reason to bring up that particular John Fiedler story. Speaking of Mr. Winchell ... I guess I should mention there's actually sort of a happy ending to that Paul-gets-fired story. You see, just around this same time, the Imagineers were beginning work on WDW's new dark ride, "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh." And -- after they saw all those stories in the paper about Disney dismissing Winchell from the "Family Tree" project -- the guys at WDI obviously thought that this was a pretty lousy way to treat a television legend. So when the Imagineers began recording the soundtrack for this new Fantasyland attraction, they insisted that Paul come in and perform Tigger's vocals. The guys from WDI ... They really didn't care that Winchell sounded a little raspy. What mattered to them was that the man who had originated this character's voice was now providing Tigger's vocals for their "Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" ride. The message that the Imagineers were obviously trying to get across to Paul was: We're not all like those guys over at Disney Feature Animation. We actually value who you are and what you've done for our company. More importantly, we appreciate all the entertainment that you've provided us with over the past 50 years. And -- given that the Imagineers also made a point of hiring John Fiedler to record Piglet's dialogue for this new Disney World attraction -- I guess it's pretty obvious that the guys at WDI thought fairly highly of John too. Unfortunately, the "Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" ride was pretty much Winchell's last hurrah with the Walt Disney Company. Whereas Fiedler ... He actually went on to do a number of new projects for the Mouse House after that. Providing Piglet's vocals for "The Book of Pooh" TV series, the "Mickey's House of Villains"&"Winnie the Pooh: Springtime for Roo" video premieres as well as the "Piglet's Big Movie"&"Pooh's Heffaump Movie" theatrical releases. In fact, there's still one more project in the pipeline -- "Pooh's Heffalump Halloween -- The Movie" -- that John also did voicework for. Though that video premiere isn't due to hit store shelves 'til September 13th of this year. Anyhow ... I just wish that Winchell could have experienced what Fiedler did over the last few years of his life. That sense that -- even though John was a man in his late 70s -- he was still someone who could add something unique to the mix. Which is why Disney deliberately sought Fiedler out whenever they were getting a new "Winnie the Pooh" project off the ground. But now that John's gone ... Well, given the billions that the Mouse makes off of the sale of Pooh-related products each year, it's pretty obvious that this franchise is going to have to continue. Which is why the guys over Disney's voice department are probably already wondering who they're going to get to fill Fiedler's shoes. Maybe they'll get lucky and find another huge talent like Jim Cummings. Someone who -- thanks to their own comic genius as well as the gift of mimicry --will be able to create a close approximation of Paul Winchell's Tigger. Still, given that Tigger's voice was obviously patterned after the voice that Winchell used to do for his Knucklehead Smiff character, it was fairly easy for Disney to come up a replacement bouncy, trouncy tiger. Whereas Fielder's distinctive take on Piglet -- that halting delivery, the sense that this character was constantly struggling to keep his fears under control, the obvious heart that John poured into this part -- it might take Disney's voice department quite a while to come up with an actor who can accomplish what Fiedler did. Which was make us care about -- even fall in love with -- a small, fretful pig. The entire JHM staff wishes to extend its heartfelt condolensces to the friends & family of John Fiedler during their time of sorrow. cheap corel draw cheap microsoft office

Pop quiz, hot shot: how many times you wake up not wanting to do anything? Ah. What a glorious . I have been known to wake up, go to work, and proceed to ram up where the sun don't shine every single job I receive. The pleasure? I proceeded to get paid. HA. Let me pause for a second here and clarify something: for those out there who think that wasting time is a way of life at your current job: you suck hairy balls. Really. Being a lazy ass dude who proceeds to ignore the day to day jobs that come in because they are so busy looking at Archive or playing their garden variety Tetris suck long and hard. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Just look at the poor, slimmer by the day guy right next to you, that hasn't seen his daughter because he's doing YOUR damn work. Shame, shame. Anyways. Let me get off the soap box. Where was I? There is something very dirty and pleasurable about deciding not to work one day. We deserve once in a while for a day of nothingness. When I started working I felt guilty about it. Hm. Not anymore. I've worked and paid my dues. It's time to take the day off. And if you are slaving away at your department... do it. Yeah baby. Whip out some DVD's or a cool magazine. Have a good one. On the house. cheap microsoft office cheap corel draw

Sorry for the lack of general information on my blog. Too be honest, minor random things about Grime doesn't really float my boat anymore. Too many real issues are appearing through the surface and it's becoming clear that Grime needs a good old kick up the bum. I think 2007 is make it or break it time for the scene, Fans and 'supporters' can either download the music that they seem to love so much or go out their way to contribute. The thing is people seem to think that the minor act of downloading Grime artists work is innocent. Although it's not the one off occasion that people do this, I understand it moves the scene into further fields and new people get to listen to the sound, BUT! downloading & sending mixtape after mixtape is not exactly doing anything for Grime, only improving their forum/intenet credibility. Without good investment, the people that make good music that you download but don't invest in,won't be making it anymore. OPEN YOUR POCKETS. This isn't obviously the only issue with 'fans', most girls who go to grime raves are only there to conquest anyone who has a mixtape out and this seems to scare of other females who want to show love to the music they adore. It's got so bad when I give an artist a lift home rumours creep about that im some sort of begging groupie. Think about it like this, if I didn't give them a lift home then they would of most definitely never of turned up. This leads on to another subject, punctuality which seems to be some issue that even the biggest signed Grime artists can't tackle. With there only being 3 to 4 regular grime nights in the whole of London, you would think that 'artists' would jump at the chance to showcase their talent. I'm not moaning for you to turn up hours before a rave or night starts but come on, if you want your fans to buy your mixtape then at least take a little pride in turning up. While some artists actually turn up and don't flop the events, theres the issue with an artists/crews performance. Standard skills like holding the mic at the right distance and remembering your bars. Even having enough lyrics to take on a full on performance, it's not fun to watch someone jump about spitting the same bars over and over. A full on performance being around an hour, obviously most don't get booked for this amount but its good to carry through having a lorry load of bars to spit. I do argue though that Quality is better than Quantity. So having 1000 of bars with no meaning is a waste of your and our time. I've been to a handful of performances of Ruff Squad's and most of the time without Fuda Guy (who has an amazing energy) and Tinchy (Who has the energy and bars) they just stand there with hands in their pockets like they are waiting in a queue. I do rate them though, they turn up everywhere and on time, although sometimes i do wish they wouldn't. Pockets at the ready. If people are coming to see you at least give them something to hype about. True say Guns and Roses Vol2 is sick. So with this issue brings money, some artists charge dumb amounts for the big opportunity to show their talent. I recently asked Nu Brand Flex well Boya and Saskilla how much it would be for a P.A of Gash by the Hour Boya replied with £200. I might aswell just play their track instead of waste £200 on a couple of any guys. People are going on like they are Pharell Williams or Jay Z. I understand you have to survive but out of the Grime scene you are ANY GUYS. Especially if the odds of you turning up are 1 in 10,000. It's not a big look to think you can rip off people who will pay you for you to perform, in London, around the UK or Out of the country, just because they don't have much knowledgable about Grime. Charging ridiculous amounts, when just putting your music out there to different crowds will prove a lot in the long run. Especially as this is one of the main reasons for many club owners to not book Grime emcees. Particularly when most of you can't even perform. Mixtapes. Now none of you can sell as much as JME just by having them on the shelfs. When you are an unknown its not impossible to do alot, Random Impulse who is more of an unknown in the scene sold 8000 mixtapes to date, by hustling them himself, people up westend selling them... when he performs he sells them, its in record shops. Its about will power, you don't have to be Snoop Dogg to sell and not being lazy. Promoting it everywhere you go, putting it out to every media source not just stalking Chantelle Fiddy and begging her for a review. ( I tried that before and it didn't work) Also if you're a not well known still get out there to every grime night/ rave possible its a good opportunity to talk with established artists and get advice. The whole scene, artists and supporters need to take a good hard look at themselves. Artists take your music to new levels and have a professional attitude. Get yourself on radio, to Club nights, raves regularly and be consistent. Don't think dropping one track/mixtape a year ago will sort you out for life, it won't. ... If someone says your swag... Don't shoot/stab them, take it on board and improve yourself. Also note if you are a swag Producer/MC/DJ/Singer or anything else, please stop, give up and hand yourself in to your local police station, its murdering the scene. Just because you know talented artists in the scene or you're related to one of them doesn't mean you are a big artist. BE AN INDIVIDUAL. Violence is a bait issue but the one that has merked off most of the media/venue/police love (if there was any). I do realise that alot of Artists bring 'weapons' / fight at raves as it is most likely a moment when people will take you for a mug. Although alot of the violence is because of pure hype... Settle! Take your business some where else, if you don't people will learn and won't book you AGAIN! I would bore you with all the great albums and mixtapes that are going to be dropped in 2007, but like 2006 alot was promised and most of the levels were average. One more thing, theres no need to be so rude... having a radio show, having a couple groupies tell you you're their god or having a video 6months ago on Channel U doesn't give you the right to think you're anything more than the people that listen to your music. If they weren't there you would be Air. Not every that approaches you wants to be your best friend/have sex with you/ beg you to be on their track. cheap microsoft office cheap corel draw

My name is khalid mahmoud, A Bahrain national I have been diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer .It has defiled all forms of medical treatment, and right now I have only about a few months to live, according to medical experts. I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I never really cared for anyone(not even myself)but my business. Though I am very rich, I was never generous, I was always hostile to people and only focused on my business as that was the only thing I cared for. But now I regret all this as I now know that there is more to life than just wanting to have or make all the money in the world. I believe when God gives me a second chance to come to this world I would live my life a different way from how I have lived it. Now that God has called me, I have willed and given most of my property and assets to my immediate and extended family members as well as a few close friends .I want God to be merciful to me and accept my soul so, I have decided to give alms to charity organizations, as I want this to be one of the last good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have Distributed money to some charity organizations in the U.A.E, Somalia and Malaysia. Now that my health has deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this myself anymore. I once asked members of my family to close one of my accounts and distribute the money which I have there to charity organization in Bulgaria and Pakistan, they refused and kept the money to themselves. Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as they seem not to be contended with what I have left for them. The last of my money which no one knows of is the huge cash deposit of Eighteen Million dollars($18,000,000,00) that I have with a finance House abroad. I will want you to help me collect this deposit and despatch it to charity organizations. N/B:KINDLY NOTE THAT you will take out 20% of this funds for your effort and time. Regards, Mr.khalid mahmoud. I WOULD WANT YOU TO REACH ME VIA MY PRIVATE EMAIL IF YOU ARE WILLING TO ASSIST ME. ( khalidmahmoud42@yahoo.gr )

The Truth Of This Art
Posted on October 12, 2008 in CorelDRAW Graphics
The reality is there are really TWO levels to this whole thing called "being successful with women". There is the base level understanding that is important, that includes basic important stuff like not supplicating, knowing how to have an interesting conversation, having a basic sense of humor, learning to be comfortable with a woman, etc. Thing is, I can teach all that stuff to a guy in one hour. It's really not that hard, that stuff. And just with that stuff alone, a guy will be able to get some basic level success. That doesn't mean that even with that stuff, it doesn't take practice. It's a PROCESS, a skill, that you get better and better with throughout your life with practice. But the thing is, to me, it's the more advanced stuff, that is actually FASCINATING. I ENJOY taking this stuff as FAR AS IT CAN GO. To me, attraction and emotion are INCREDIBLY super fascinating things, to experience and to allow others to experience, especially in a positive way that is healthy. I'm talking about interactions that go way beyond just being "DECENTLY" effective. And I'm talking about creating this massive impact DAY AFTER DAY AFTER DAY, not just for the "pick up", because your attraction power is only as strong as she is feeling it at any given MOMENT. This is not to say to get all bent out of shape or nervous about it, it's just to say that if you want to be successful with a woman or women long term, you have to know how to keep the attraction going day after day. And the GREATEST thing is that all this can be done in a way that is a BYPRODUCT of WHO YOU ARE, instead of you having to get all weird, nervous and desperate and trying to "entertain" a woman constantly. It's not about that at all. The first thing to understand for success is that you must have TOTAL CONVICTION IN WHAT YOU SAY AND DO. The LACK of this total conviction is one of the biggest problems that guys aren't even aware of when they try to do a pick up. You see, when you interact with a woman, tons of subtle things become apparent about your emotional state, which will subconsciously be interpreted by her and to a significant extent she will instinctively FEEL a certain way about you based on these things. When you open up a conversation with a woman, EVERY WORD YOU SAY, EVERY THING YOU DO, MUST BE SAID AND DONE WITH TOTAL CONVICTION. So many guys, as they attempt to run their pick-up, they think that what they are doing and saying is "stupid", or that the whole thing is silly, and this SHOWS in their body language and tonality. They have LACK OF CONVICTION in what they are doing.. The guy is afraid of doing his pickup properly, because he thinks the whole thing is "stupid", so what he does he ACTUALLY INTENTIONALLY ACTS LIKE A DORK, as if to say to the woman, "This is stupid, and I know it, so you can't make fun of me for doing it since I'm OBVIOUSLY AWARE THAT IT IS STUPID." Basically, it's an insecure mentality, that assumes the worst about yourself. It makes a guy look like he believes he couldn't possibly pull off a proper pick up, as if he is just not worthy enough, not cool enough, not interesting enough, not desirable enough, etc. And the irony is, THAT is the message the guy is giving her with total conviction, so she then FEELS that he is a dork, unworthy, etc. And the thing to remember, is that this conviction stuff applies to EVERYTHING, not just to your body language or what you say. It applies, for example, to your clothing, your style, the way you present yourself, the way you react and act, the way you THINK. It all starts in the MIND. Style, clothing, and accessories are simply AN EXTENSION OF YOUR PSYCHOLOGY AND YOUR STATE OF MIND. And one affects the other. So if you wear clothing that says "ho-hum and please don't look at me" or if you wear clothing that says "OH MY GOSH I NEEED YOU to look at me" in both cases that's a reflection of yourself. And not the most attractive reflection. And you will start to feel the same way about yourself as the message you are giving off through what you wear, which reinforces the habit of wearing that stuff, which reinforces the habit of FEELING that way, in a never ending cycle. But it works for the positive as well. If you DO feel, for example, that you are intriguing, if you are fascinated by the intriguing and the mysterious, you might very well choose styles that YOU find intriguing. And don't forget, you don't have to be put into one "slot", you can have a myriad of awesome and interesting states of mind and the styles to match those with total congruency. You see, this is why you don't have to be FAKE. Attractive forces have INFINITE expressions, just like art has infinite expressions, although there are certain principles, certain patterns that are always present in any powerful attractive force or element. But if you don't FEEL that you HAVE any of the attractive forces or emotions in you right now, then you are going to have to REAQUIRE them. They ARE in you, and if you don't feel you have them, it's just because they have been buried under the weight of tons of negative forces. Whether it was because you watched too much feminist bullshit television programs, such as Sex and The City, where the reality is that they needed to call an actual heterosexual male writer to help out because one of the main writers of the show was gay! So that already tells you that the show was not only not even accurate to how women feel about men, but also that it may very well have been some guy who HATES heterosexual men who was writing the show. I could go on and on about this, but let me just state that half the reason guys lose their "mojo" is all the bullshit they read or watch that robs them of their self-esteem, some of the info unfortunately comes from magazines and shows aimed at supposedly helping men! The idea is to get men feeling insecure so they feel they need to watch the show or read the magazine to make sure they are doing the right thing, and usually the ridiculous advice is things like get a tan, know the best restaurants to take a woman to, etc. Bullshit like that, stuff that totally ignores the REAL issue of the kind of aura that YOU yourself have. Also, even if you DO read a statistic about why you shouldn't be or can't be successful with women, you have to ask yourself a question: Are you going to BE a statistic???? The reason I say this is because for every guy that finds the reason why he can't succeed, I'll find a guy with the same situation who DOES succeed because he MAKES UP FOR IT in other ways. The bottom line is that for a guy there's no excuse, because there are many ways for a guy to be attractive to a woman, and any "weakness" he may have can be made up for by excelling in the many other areas of his game. Also, sometimes, as guys, we had horrific childhoods that robbed us of our "inner game". It can be an ongoing process to SALVAGE all that good stuff from underneath years of layers of negative programming, and it can be a process to also get re-educated to learn the truth about women and attraction after being exposed to so much FALSE information about this topic. But that good stuff that's in you CAN be rescued, it IS STILL there, it just needs to be FREED. You have to realize that the past does not EXIST. It's only in our imaginations and mind now, and it's up to you to LEARN from it and take action in the PRESENT. You don't have to live the PAST anymore. Now, it's up to YOU. Another important step is asking yourself what do YOU enjoy? And don't just tell me food, sex, spending money, or things like that. Those things are very raw things that everyone obviously has in common. I'm talking about the more refined stuff, the kind of stuff that you would be interested in if you ALREADY had all the sex stuff, etc, taken care of. So you see, you don't HAVE to be funny. You don't HAVE to be intriguing. You don't HAVE to be "dangerous". You don't HAVE to be "adventurous". You don't HAVE to be mysterious. You don't HAVE to be "playful". And you certainly don't have to be ALL those things. But you damn well HAVE to be SOMETHING EMOTIONALLY COMPELLING. I refuse to believe that there is ANYONE out there who is really totally boring or who has no potential of being emotionally compelling. It's impossible to really have nothing interesting about yourself, because life itself demands some pretty big things of anyone in order to survive and manage physically and/or emotionally. And then, when you figure out what you are, you must UNLEASH that with CONVICTION. Conviction goes hand in hand with Congruency. If you don't have conviction in what you are saying, doing, or wearing, you won't be congruent to it at all and it will fall to pieces, although sometimes you just have to fake it to make it, so that you ultimately DO become congruent to it. It takes a little determination. Another really important point that needs to be stated, but is almost never said: When starting an interaction with a woman you have never met before, it's important to realize that you don't have to come out EXPLODING out the gates with something INSANELY powerful to say right off the bat. That's simply impossible most of the time, and in fact, defeats the whole point of BUILDING an interaction and AMPLIFYING an emotional experience. Think of a good movie- does the first SECOND blow you away? Usually not, usually though it's INTERESTING, it arouses at least some curiosity, or it is intriguing, it gets you interested to FIND OUT MORE about the character. And things KEEP ON GETTING MORE AND MORE EXCITING, INTERESTING, DRAMATIC, etc. as each minute unfolds. In fact, if a movie came out at you in the first SECOND with too much intensity, it would often weird you out. You haven't even had a chance to find out WHAT IS GOING ON HERE, to get comfortable enough to even WANT to be overwhelmed with any emotion. Actually, there is one more thing I want to mention: A lot of what makes an interaction GREAT is dealing with emotions that a woman can RELATE to. You see, there is nothing wrong about Star Wars per se, but not too many girls "get it" (although I have met now and then the very rare girl who totally "gets it" and who is both intelligent and hot) but usually unless you are really talented at conveying the essence of something, starting a conversation with a girl about Star Wars is like a girl starting a conversation with you about panty liners. You get what I'm saying? Not easily able to relate to it. And also, talking to a girl about celebrity gossip, etc, although a GREAT idea for beginners, is really just a starting point for your conversation. You want to take the conversation to a place that ultimately is something that not only is interesting to her, but also interesting to YOU, and thus BONDS both of you. In fact, you want to take the conversation to a point that leaves her INSPIRED, UPLIFTED, OR BETTER OFF in some way, even if it was you TEACHING her something that will help HER emotionally. And you do ALL OF THIS from a totally NON NEEDY standpoint, it all flows from a perspective of ABUNDANCE, i.e. that you are in such a great place of abundance, that you don't need to "get back" from her in order to GIVE. You honestly don't NEED her to give back to you, because you know you can have other women. You actually ENJOY the interaction for the moment you are both in, there is no "destination" that you are obsessed with. THAT is attractive. Welcome to the non-creepy world of real attraction and connection that does not rely on scripts, alcohol, or whores for results. If you would like to learn MORE about all this, I have GREAT news for you: I will be offering a full two-day LIVE Seminar, August 19th to 20th, in TORONTO, where you can get the complete picture, the most ACCURATE picture about attraction and how to actually do pick up properly.
